FictionIn the Story To Kill a Mocking Bird by Harper Lee, the three most courageous characters were Atticus, Tom Robinson and Boo Radley. Throughout the novel, Atticus Finch is the most courageous, showing his bravery in nearly the entire length of the novel. And even though we only see him once, Boo Radley exhibits much courage with his acts. Atticus Finch is the most courageous character and this is easily seen through his actions. Atticus puts all his heart into defending Tom Robinson even though everyone in Maycomb is against Tom because he is black. The citizens of Maycomb show their disapproval of Atticus with verbal abuse and extreme actions. Despite this, Atticus goes on because he recognizes Tom Robinson s innocence and he knows what is right and wrong. Atticus stands behind what he truly believes. The citizens of Maycomb see these qualities of Atticus, either consciously or unconsciously, and therefore they have respect for him. Because they respect him, the townfolk reelect him to his position as a county attorney so he can continue his role in doing what others fear to do. This man shows courage with everything life throws at him and that’s why he is the most courageous man.
