Natural Recycling of Aggregate

Common Recycling of Aggregate Presentation For a long time people groups have been attempting to keep the ecological clean and notice the regular equalization of life. The logical investigations give us the data and techniques to accomplish these destinations and the reusing of waste and by item materials speak to the primary job in these examinations [1-4]. Because of reproduction of existing structures and asphalts, wars and cataclysmic events, for example, quakes the measure of development and destruction materials are expanding each year. Simultaneously endorsement of extra offices for squander removal or treatment are gotten increasingly hard to acquire. Besides expanding prohibitive ecological guidelines have made waste removal progressively troublesome and costly. Additionally the accessible normal total in certain nations diminishes and might be gotten inadequate for the development extends in these nations later on [5]. Along these lines, the reuse of development and destruction materials in development has benefits not just in lessening the measure of materials requiring removal yet in addition can furnish development materials with huge sparing of the first materials. As indicated by the third Building Waste Monitoring Report [6], there is an expansion in the recorded measure of building waste in the segments of the structure flotsam and jetsam, street scarification and building site squander. It has emerged in Germany by 11.5 million tons, from 77.1 million tons in the period 1997/1998 to 88.6 million tons in the period 1999/2000. As per Rahlwes and Schmidt [7, 8], for concrete just, the yearly squashed solid amount in west Germany just is around 30 million tones and in the European Union is roughly 130 million ton. Because of concentrated structure exercises in the most recent decades, these sums are relied upon to significantly increment after the year 2000. The properties of reused coarse total with a grain size over 4 mm and its reuse in solid creation and asphalts development have been assessed and depicted in many. It has been evaluated that around 50 million tons of cement are right now crushed every year in the European Economic Communities [1], Equivalent figures are 60 million tons in the United States ([2], [3]), and in Japan [12] the complete amount of solid garbage accessible for reusing on some scale is around 10 to 12 million tons. Almost no annihilated cement is right now reused or reused anyplace on the planet. The little amount which is recuperated is essentially reused as unstabilized base or subbase in roadway development. The rest is dumped or discarded as fill. For Environmental and different reasons the quantity of promptly open removal destinations around significant urban communities on the planet has diminished as of late. The two removals volume and most extreme sizes of squanders have been limited. In Japan removal charges from USD 3 to 10 for every ton are normal. In addition, separates between destruction destinations and removal regions have expanded and transportation costs higher. Simultaneously basic deficiencies of good common total is creating in numerous urban zones, and separations between stores of characteristic material and destinations of new development have become bigger, and transportation costs have gotten correspondingly higher, It is evaluated that among now and year 2,000, three times progressively annihilated solid will be produced every year than is today. Therefore it very well may be anticipated that destruction temporary workers will go under significant monetary and other strain to process obliterated cement for reuse as unscreened rock, base and subbase materials, totals for creation of new concrete or for other helpful purposes. Huge scope reusing of annihilated solid will contribute not exclusively to the arrangement of a developing waste removal issue. It will likewise assist with saving common assets of sand and rock and to make sure about future gracefully of sensibly valued totals for building and street development purposes inside enormous urban zones of the world. Utilizations of Recycled Aggregate The reused solid total appeared in Figure 1.1 can be characterized as squashed cement made out of total parts covered with concrete glue or concrete mortar from the destruction of the old structures or asphalts that has been prepared to create totals appropriate for use in new concrete. The preparing, similarly as with numerous regular totals, by and large includes pulverizing, reviewing and washing. This evacuates contaminant materials, for example, strengthening steel, leftovers of formwork, gypsum board, and other remote materials. The subsequent coarse total is then reasonable for use in concrete. The fine total, in any case, by and large contains a lot of old concrete glue and mortar. This will in general increment the drying shrinkage and creep properties of the new concrete, just as prompting issues with unworkable blend and quality. Accordingly, numerous transportation offices have discovered that utilizing 100% coarse reused total however with just about 10% to 20% reused fines functions admirably. Concerning consequences of the vast majority of the past research that has been done as such far, the utilization of Recycled Aggregate is for the most part as of now in low quality/quality cement, for instance, asphalt base and chunk instead of utilized in auxiliary cement. The most well-known utilization of Recycled Concrete Aggregate is the utilization in concrete sub-base in street development, bank insurance, clamor obstructions and dikes, numerous sorts of general mass fills and fill materials for seepage structures. After the expulsion of contaminants through particular destruction, screening, and additionally air partition and size decrease in a smasher to total sizes, squashed cement can be utilized as new cement for asphalts, shoulders, middle boundaries, walkways, controls and canals, and scaffold establishments; auxiliary level solid; soil-concrete asphalt bases; shaped solid blocks and squares; bituminous cement and so on. In any case, there is a case of reused concrete being utilized for part of the basic pieces in an elevated structure in Japan however there was no an excessive amount of detail accessible on this undertaking. As per explore that has been directed in Australia, current utilization of reused totals is still just around 7% of street development material in South Australia. Victoria Road additionally utilize reused total for their street base development extends in Victoria however MainRoads in Queensland doesn't as of now. Customarily, the use of reused total is utilized as landfill. These days, the utilizations of reused total in development territories are wide. The applications are not the same as nation to nation. Solid Kerb and Gutter Mix Reused total have been utilized as solid kerb and drain blend in Australia. As indicated by Building Innovation Construction Technology (1999), Stone says that the 10mm reused total and mixed reused sand are utilized for solid kerb and drain blend in the Lent corridor Street venture in Sydney. Granular Base Course Materials As indicated by Market Development Study for Recycled Aggregate Products (2001), reused total are utilized as granular base course in the street development. It additionally expressed that reused total had demonstrated that better than normal total when utilized as granular base course in streets development. They additionally found that when the street is based on the wet sub level zones, reused total will balance out the base and give an improved working surface to asphalt structure development. Bank Fill Materials Market Development Study for Recycled Aggregate Products (2001) expressed that reused total can be utilized in bank fill. The purpose behind having the option to use in bank fill is same as it is utilized in granular base course development. The bank site is on the wet sub grade regions. Reused total can balance out the base and give an improved working surface to the rest of the works. Clearing Blocks Reused total have been utilized as clearing hinders in Hong Kong. As per Hong Kong Housing Department (n.d.), reused total are utilized as run of the mill clearing squares. A preliminary venture had been begun to test the long †term execution of clearing squares made with reused total in 2002. Refill Materials Reused total can be utilized as refill materials. Mehus and Lillestol (n.d) found that Norwegian Building Research Institute (n.d) referenced that reused solid total can be utilized as inlay materials in the funnel zone along channels subsequent to having testing in lab. Building Blocks Reused total utilized as building squares. Mehus and Lillestol (n.d) expressed that Optiroc AS had utilized reused total to create the workmanship sound protection squares. The stone work sound protection obstructs that created had met all the prerequisites during the research center testing. Universal Status Mehus and Lillestol (n.d.) expressed that RESIBA had built another secondary school in Sorumsand, outside the city of Oslo, Norway in 2001. Reused solid total had been utilized in this undertaking. Thirty †five percent of coarse total were supplanted by reused solid total in the establishments, half of the cellar dividers and sections. A few tests were directed dependent on new and solidified solid properties and the outcomes indicated that the solid with thirty †five percent of reused solid total have great freeze †defrost opposition. The utilization of reused solid total didn't demonstrated any observable increment in breaking. As indicated by Grubl, Nealen and Schmidt (n.d.), there is a structure venture, the â€Å"Waldspirale† by Friedensreich Hundertwasser, produced using concrete with reused total in Darmstadf from November 1998 to September 1999. 5 Tips for Writing Your TMDSAS Secondary Essays

When you apply to TMDSAS, you can select from ten medical schools in Texas to submit your application to. Only five of these schools require secondaries. The secondary essays are due when you submit your primary application. You submit the essays directly to each school at the same time that you submit your primary application on the TMDSAS website. These five schools will not review your application until you have submitted both the primary and secondary essays. These five schools include: the UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas A M HSC College of Medicine, Texas Tech University HSC School of Medicine, the University of North Texas HSC, Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine and Texas Tech University HSC Paul L. Foster School of Medicine at El Paso.    To submit your best work, use these five strategies: 1. Plan for Success by getting started early Since your application will not be considered until both the primary and secondary essays are submitted, give yourself enough time to work on all of these essays well before any of the schools’ final deadlines. Create a timeline for yourself. If you need additional time to write the essays because you are a slow writer, include this time in your plan. Set reasonable goals. Have deadlines for your first drafts as well as second and third drafts. Academic success is determined by your ability to set and reach small goals. I don’t recommend using the final deadlines as a milepost for any of your work as this would be considered waiting until the last minute. If you are procrastinating or self-sabotaging, I recommend you take a long hard look at that behavior since it needs to be addressed before you can allow yourself to earnestly approach any academic endeavor.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   2. Take your time with the writing process Trust the process!   Rarely does anyone write a first draft and expect anyone else to deem it perfection.   It’s not realistic to expect that your first draft will be your final draft. Include a period of brainstorming, outlining, writing a first draft and revising repeatedly until you have created a final draft. Reading the essay questions and giving yourself enough time to think about them and how you will approach each writing task that they represent will help. Build enough time into each step so that you can glide through the process. Anticipate the challenges and create strategies to manage each one.    3. Use outlines to map out a plan for each essay Can you imagine how a house would turn out if there was no plan for how to build it? It would not be habitable. Outlines are to essays what blueprints are to building. The outline provides the plans. It provides the structure for your essay. It should stand firm, like a house. Taking the time to create outlines can set your essays apart from everyone else’s work.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   4. Take breaks from each draft In anticipating the massive amount of writing that you will need to do in applying to medical school, schedule time to work on your essays almost every day. You do need to take breaks from your work in order to see it clearly. Work on one essay while taking a break from another. Be efficient in your approach. I’m not recommending that you take weeks off unless you have given yourself enough time to do so. 5. Edit and Revise your work This step is actually the most important in the writing process. It takes time to edit and revise. So few people spend time on it, and then they submit unfinished or undeveloped essays. If you have created a strong outline, your essay will require less editing, but you’ll still need to edit and revise your work. Spend enough time on editing and revising to ensure that you can submit your best work. It can be easier to have another person critique and edit your work. Working with a professional consultant and editor like me or my colleagues at Accepted  can give you a significant advantage and save you time.    Using these five strategies will ensure that you have an easier time completing your essays for the TMDSAS application. Most people don’t like to write, but your writing is one of the most revealing aspects of your application. It introduces you as a person to the evaluation committee. Make sure your writing process introduces your best You. Alicia McNease Nimonkar is an Accepted advisor and editor specializing in healthcare admissions. Since the Founding Fathers established our nation, the idea of â€Å"unequal equals† has been in effect. Throughout history up to present day race, sexuality and gender have establish the system of advantages upon which this nation runs. The Civil War brought about limited freedoms to African Americans but after World War II, the struggle for equality intensified, as African Americans grew increasingly dissatisfied with their second-class status. Although the civil rights movement made some gains in the 1940s, Africans looked to the federal courts to attain its goals. With legal efforts of the era bring awareness to a growing issue; civil rights activists took direct action to end segregation. Historical figures such a Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King Jr. took a stand for equality and demanded their freedoms. We will write a custom essay sample on New Era of Discrimination or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page Similar to African Americans, women felt that their rights were not equal to those of men. During the abolition period Lucretia Mott and Elizabeth Cady Staton helped organize the nation’s first Women’s Rights Convention in Seneca Falls, New York. During the convention those gathered adopted a Declaration of Sentiments, and women soon were granted suffrage. Although highly ridiculed, the conference began the movement to women’s rights in the United States. Going into the twenty-first century, America has found itself spiraling deeper into a culture driven by prejudice. In the work place many women could see the top of the corporate ladder, but never actually get there. Although things appeared to be improving with the election of the first African American president, still African Americans were subject to raciest slurs often destroying self-esteem. Among all else a new form of prejudice began to sweep the nation. Heterosexism, or the idea that heterosexuals are superior to homosexuals, has become a serious issue. With many advances in past prejudices many thought acceptance of same-sex marriage would soon follow. However, with the passing of Proposition 8, California stripped the rights to marry from same-sex couples, and America took two steps back towards prejudice against homosexuals and entered an era of Homosexual Civil Rights Movements. As homosexuals try to live a life like any other citizen. Many members of the LGBT community have to give up their faith as many churches provide funds to support campaigns such as the â€Å"Yes on Prop 8† campaign. Often jobs are not given to homosexuals or a raise is not given when deserved. While looking to start a family, questions such as â€Å"what about the child?† come into play. Some even have to deal with violent hate crimes, with the whole purpose of the attack to â€Å"send a message† that homosexuality will not be tolerated. Today homosexuals are learning the hardships minorities faced in the past, looking back on their history for support and advice. Being gay I know first had how hard it is to develop when you feel at a disadvantage. During my senior year of high school, I wished to donate blood for a blood drive. I wanted to do my part in the community to save a life and set an example. After my screening I was denied this opportunity because I was seeing a male. I did not understand, I was not sexually active and I had no family history of HIV. The screener simply said, â€Å"I’m sorry† and moved on to the next student. To deny people basic civil rights is unjust. The arguments and viewpoints to the contrary do not make any sense at all and, therefore, must be born out of either ignorant fear or hateful prejudice. Even during a time like this of national hope and change, the fight for total equality in America will continue.

Why Barbie Is a Good Influence free essay sample

Barbie is Just a Piece of Plastic â€Å"Seen through Rose-Tinted glasses:† The Barbie Doll in American Society. By Marilyn Motz; supports the highly debated topic that the toy Barbie produced by Mattel is a bad influence, on young girls. Motz is claiming that the young female child envisions herself as Barbie, and with Barbie resembling an older more mature woman. Something that Barbie’s age group cannot obtain, in till they grow older and more mature themselves. However, Barbie is just a toy, her resemblance, her actions, as a doll is, solely up to the child. Adults looking into their daughter’s childhood are simply over thinking what a three to eleven year old can produce inside her mind. Parents see themselves as a protector for their child in particular their daughters. The guardians of the child are over thinking the idea that Barbie is some kind of sex symbol. A parent who allows their child to watch television is more in danger of a bad influence, than a toy named Barbie. We will write a custom essay sample on Why Barbie Is a Good Influence or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page Motz exclaims â€Å"a girl playing with a Barbie doll can envision herself with a mature body. And later in the same paragraph â€Å"focusing on bodily changes of the female body associated with puberty, of course to the and of puberty girl do not know. † (Motz paragraph 5 pg 17) Girls in this group understand Barbie is a character and is fictional. Real danger of influence runs deep in music artist and television characters. Groups, artists, and television characters such as Hannah Montana currently known as Miley Cyrus, Spice Girls who wore scantly clad clothing in the 1990’s, along with some famous artist like Brittney Spears, and the list of negative influences could go on and on. These are real threats to a developing females mental state. Their real and they are everywhere. Barbie is good for young child’s development. It allows for the child to use her imagination. How she dresses her Barbie, and what scenario the child is playing out in her room. The juvenile is using the brain creating and developing the imagination, and her creating different situations with different appearances for Barbie is developing all these skills and ideas. Our children of today are sheltered, yet guardians and surrounding adults lack in giving guidance to what is right. Motz exclaims in her essay that Barbie is very materialistic. Which can be considered very true to what she is portrayed on the television screen through advertisements and other types of media, but with proper parenting this could be the opportunity for the parent to guide the child to work for the accessories that are sold separately. To give the young child that nothing in life comes free, and doing chores or work these things could be obtained and allow the child to want to strive for that life style through hard work and dedication. This is taught through the parents, and is something determined by her upbringing not a toy. Children look up Barbie’s, but not as much as content or characters on television. Experiences through the five senses create a child’s values, thoughts, and actions. Barbie acts as a friend. This is similar to a young child having an imaginary friend. Children are exposed to so much through the senses, it can be sensory overload, and the idea that Barbie’s mature features have an extreme effect on a child’s mind, is highly unlikely. The way the doll is dressed, her materialistic items, and other ideas that can be portrayed through the doll is less impactful on a young child. Barbie’s are more of a friend to a young child, through observation Barbie acts kind of like a imaginary friend. Some of the youth takes around with them everywhere, and maybe even having a place setting at the table for the plastic toy. Barbie is toted around everywhere just like Linus from the peanut series Charlie Brown. Linus totes his blanket around everywhere he goes, and its kind of like a security thing. Barbie has slim negative affects on a young child’s brain. Adding another positive to Barbie’s arsenal of characteristics is the opportunity for the consumer of the Barbie product to dress her in way one could imagine. She is also sold ready for different careers anything from being a business woman to an astronaut getting ready to head into space. This tells the child she can be anything she wants to be, and the world is endless possibilities that it is up to you to obtain. I agree, that maybe some apparel that is being sold to dress Barbie in has potential to be inappropriate for some ages, but this is where the guardian of that particular child should take proper action in deciding what is right. If you think that the Barbie outfit is inappropriate then don’t purchase it for your child. There should be some filter to what is right. Barbie is a great ageless toy that is good for developing children. It provides stimulation for the mind, and can create a bigger better imagination. Parents concerned for the possible negative influence Barbie has on children. Should consider watching some of their children’s programming, and maybe use some parenting to guide their child to what is right and wrong. Barbie can be such a great developmental tool use for positive things. A child’s surrounding environment with television, billboards, maybe a magazine lying around is so much more damaging a plastic doll. Barbie is just like a friend like Woody from Toy Story.

Essay on An Ideal Trip to the Winter Olympics

Essay on An Ideal Trip to the Winter Olympics Essay on An Ideal Trip to the Winter Olympics An ideal trip would be to somewhere that we could learn about many different cultures and have fun at the same time. The Winter Olympics would be a great place to do just that. With so many things to do and people to see, it would certainly be a very fun and educational trip. There are many events to choose from at the Olympics. From the luge to figure skating there is something for everyone. If we had multiple teachers go with us, each student could pick which event they would like to go to. Maybe one or two students like skiing but another one likes snowboarding, the group could split up and watch an event before meeting again. Since there are many rounds to each sport, we could watch the first half of one event and the second half of another so that we have the opportunity to experience each one. The plan for the trip could be flexible so that everyone is able to enjoy something. In between races and awards ceremonies, we could also learn a great deal about other cultures. There would be many educational benefits in going to the Olympics. We would learn not only about the lifestyle of the country we are in, but also the other countries that participate in the games. We would get a new idea of culture by interacting with visitors from other areas of the world. Along with learning about the character of the country, we could also learn about the geographical details. Before leaving for the trip, the group could study and learn about the location of our destination. Once we arrive, each student could take turns completing tasks that involve interacting with new people. One student might check in at the hotel, the next might order food at the restaurant, and another could catch the group a taxi. We will learn about different countries just by participating in everyday life with the people who live there. The trip could provide us with many long-term

Marketing transportation Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words - 2

Marketing transportation - Essay Example One way that firms can save is through the reduction of plastic bags, as they have a detrimental effect on the environment. One strategy that a firm could use is to encourage recycling among its customers. The benefits would be mutual is this instance because both parties would be helping to contribute. 12. Carrier tariffs and classification go a long way to improving the performance of logistics systems. This is because a packing firm must try to take advantage of equipment’s weight and volume capabilities. Also, there is less chance of products being damaged because of the way the goods are packed in. 18. Of the 10 materials handling principles in this chapter, the two that are the most surprising to me is the ergonomics principle and the environmental principle. For the first one, I would have thought that machines would have been in charge of this process and not human workers. For the second principle, I would have thought that the fast and most efficient systems would be used and not the most environmentally-friendly. 2. The most obvious difference between a fragmented logistics structure and a unified logistics structure is that the former involves logistics being managed across multiple departments, whereas a unified logistics structure only uses one department. One downside to a fragmented logistics structure is that logistics activities are organized by individual departments based on their own needs rather than those of the firm. On the other hand, a unified logistics structure has more cooperation through an organization. 5. Relevancy focuses on satisfying current and future customer needs, and this is done through mutually beneficial relationships. Responsiveness shows how an organization reacts to an unexpected or unplanned change. For this one, it is important that the key players in an organization are given correct information from which to base decisions from. Flexibility is a mix

Salvation Term Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1750 words

Salvation - Term Paper Example t Taylor points out that God through the Bible is: Telling mankind that every effort to save them will continue until they themselves find that they are lost and require Salvation. The Bible starts with the perception on how the universe was created. Then it comes to the creation of the first human, Adam, and later his spouse, Eve. It was both of them who did the first sin of the mankind, and that was the reason why God pulled them out of the paradise. From then on, man was forced to earn his livelihood by himself, and there started the diversion of man from God. All these things happened in the Old Testament, and man became a subject to the rage of God as an outcome of his sins. He longed for peace, and that’s when man’s run for Salvation commenced. The Old Testament cites the laws or commandments that man had to follow to take the road to Salvation. At this juncture, it is important to understand the Greek, Hebrew meanings of the word Salvation. In Greek, the word tha t refers to salvation is ‘Sozo’, which is very comprehensive in meaning like ‘to save, to make whole’ etc. In King James Version of the Bible, from Gen 49:18 to Psa 18:46, the term Salvation occurs 164 times in  158  verses (Strong's Concordance with  Hebrew and Greek Lexicon). At the same time, in Hebrew, the word for Salvation found in the Bible is ‘Yeshuwah’ which indicates "deliverance" or ‘something saved’. Since man continued to sin, in the Old Testament, God made a promise to lead the mankind to Salvation, which paved the way for the advent of Jesus Christ, the son of God to the Earth to save the mankind. It is mentioned in the New Testament that God gave the commandments to make mankind aware that they crave Salvation; they were never intended to be the means of salvation. As... The researcher of this essay analyzes the Bible, that is a standard parameter whenever there is debate or discussion on faith and science. Salvation is a topic that often comes up in discussions about the Bible, and, of course, the core element of the entire New Testament. Theologians are deeply at odds regarding the extent to which the concept of salvation is used in the Old Testament. James Barr points out that Salvation has not been given ‘central prominence’ in the Old Testament. Salvation in religion refers to the saving of the soul from sins and its aftermaths. Biblical Salvation rarely refers to Salvation from hell. Absolution from hindrances in life is the common meaning given to Salvation in the Old Testament. To sum up, the researcher mentions that human Salvation was foreseen by God even before creation in time immemorial. Post creation, God executed the plan of Salvation, which he intended to implement through his Son. He promised the coming of the Messiah, a saviour, to attain mankind’s Salvation. The Old Testament is thus an account of God trying to make mankind realize the need of Salvation and the coming of the Messiah. The New Testament is the account of life, death, and resurrection of the Messiah by which Salvation was attained in its real sense. In culmination the researcher states that the Old Testament is the substratum of the New Testament and though it is the materialization of the plan of Salvation, that is depicted from the Old Testament to the New Testament.

Experts opinion Essay Example for Free

Experts opinion Essay After reading four of experts opinion, their views can be separate into two. Katherine Franks view and advice seems different from three of others which she thinks Galen was doing a good job whereas the other three are thinking of firing him.  John Brown, who is the director of institutional sales and customer relation at Fortis Investments in Boston, has mainly two points: The boss should outline the clear value and principle of business outgoing and how the value system of the organization integrates with employee and clients. He does agree with build business relationship and trust step by step by using acceptable tactic. There are many other ways can be used in business rather than do something unethical. And be aware the feeling of client for every process during the business, a special gift or sweet regards on the holiday helps the business gaining high marks. Also pay attention of what is the clients religious beliefs or any special need and what may be downright offended of them. Denise Rousseau is a professor in both Carnegie Mellons Heinz School and Tepper School of business in Pittsburgh. Both John Brown and Denise think that value system is very important and considerable factor in business. She advises the Bob to stop Galens job then find some new sale man who can follow the rule. She has also mentioned the aspect of female employees benefit. A good company should create a fair and positive environment for employee to work and do not feel any discrimination in the working. Other wise, sex discrimination can cause a risk of reputation of the company. We always can see that female employee go to the court with the company for their deserved right and benefit. Also the company will pay attention of this sensitive topic for the long term development. Another professor is Das Narayandas from Harvard business school in Boston. His idea is mostly similar with the previous experts. He looks the problem in a serious way that Bob has been holding as a hostage by Galen and Bob need to turn the situation into his way. He thinks the biggest mistake is from the CEO Bob. Also Galen may use the company money to satisfy his own need. I do agree with this view: all the problem is from the leader. Bob need to reform and set up new corn value system of the company and also pass his idea and organization culture to all the employees. And newest concept is the service is important as the product and buyer will focus on the other aspects of company also. Katherine Frank thinks that things like go to stripe club is acceptable in business and two-person sales group would make everyone feel comfortable. She has also indicated that going to strip club can make some customer feel special and relax but not a useful way to generate business because no data can improve that any contract is signed in the club. And also makes some customer feel slightly aberrant and titillating environment. So she does not against to go to strip club but have some doubt of this business tool. How should Bob Turn His Company around? The OptiMotors Industry case reflects to several critical issues that manager must undertake sales management, especially heightening ethical selling. After reading experts comments and arguments and according to the professional reference, Several Advices have been given in below, includes reformation of sales department and improvement of internal competitive advantages.  According to The Harvard business review article How low will you go (2006), and due to prevention of sell man Galens poisonous selling who had taken his client into a stripper club in order to make a important sale, three of four experts in the article think that he should be fired. As it is a serious ethical problem, and this kind of problem seems small at first, or even it brings profit for company, however if it happens in long term cooperation , it would be found one day anyway, and at that time, if the scandal is disclosed, it would be a disaster for Optimotor, which could lead company to a break down result. Therefore, we are taking the expertise (fire ethical seller Galen) as the first step for Bobs auto parts company, in order to appease the debate among sale staffs and rebuild the morale of the sales team. Meanwhile, Bob Carlton, as a CEO of the OptiMotors industries, should recognize how important the sales department is in a successful organization. Thus, the next step is selecting a sales manager over controls sale men. It is indispensable action, because the current sale leader Bob seems not really good at managing his sale people, according his background, he is born technician but had never been referring to too much marketing knowledge in most time of his life. Therefore, Hiring a good sales manager may result in a reduction of his workload and the CEO can spend more time on manufacturing or making big decisions for the firm rather than supervising his personnel sellers which could lead to a worse result.

Art :: essays research papers

Since the dawn of human existence and literally thousands of years before written languages developed, people have used their surroundings as a canvas for expression. Art has changed a great deal since it began many centuries ago. Centuries, however, are not necessary to notice the small changes that are evident even between cultures of similar times. Egyptians were the first people to make a large impact on the world of art. Egyptians needed art for their religious beliefs more than decoration or self-gratification. The most important aspect of Egyptian life is the ka, the part of the human spirit that lives on after death. The ka needed a physical place to occupy or it would disappear. Most of the important men of Egypt paid to have their body carved out of stone. That was were the spirit would live after the man dies. They used stone because it was the strongest material they could find. Longevity was very important. The bodies are always idealized and clothed. Figures are very rigid, close-fisted, and are built on a vertical axis to show that the person is grand or intimidating. Early Greek art was greatly influenced by the Egyptians. Geography permitted both cultures to exchange their talents. The beginning of Greek art is marked by the Geometric phase. The most common art during the Geometric phase was vase painting. After the vase was formed but before it was painted, the artist applied a slip (dark pigment) to outside. Then the vase was fired and the artist would incise his decorations into the hard shell. It was important to incise humans into the fired slip and not paint with slip. The people in the pictures needed light colored skin, which was the color beneath the slip, because Greeks wanted to make their art as realistic as possible. Much like Egyptian art, the Greeks idealized the bodies of the people in their works. As the Archaic Period evolved, Greek sculptures were almost identical to the Egyptians'. Unlike Egyptians, the Greeks refined their techniques. Greeks used marble to construct their sculptures. It was considered more valuable and beaut iful than any material available. Christian art was introduced during the middle of the second century. In many cases the only difference between Christian art and Hellenistic art is the religious subject matter. After a slow start the Christians introduced something new, the mosaic. Mosaics became a favorite medium for decorating churches.

Baba and Nyonya Culture

HISTORY OF BABA & NYONYA Peranakan and Baba Nyonya in chinese ( / baba niang re) are terms used for the descendants of late 15th and 16th-century Chinese  immigrants to the Nusantara region during the Colonial era. In both  Malay and  Indonesian, ‘Peranakan’ is defined as ‘descendant’ with no connotation of the ethnicity of descent unless followed by a subsequent qualifying noun, such as for example  Cina  (Chinese),  Belanda(Dutch) or  Jepang/Jepun  (Japanese). Baba  is a Persian loan-word borrowed by  Malaysian as an honorific solely for grandparents; it was used to refer to the Straits-Chinese males.Female Straits-Chinese descendants were either called or styled themselves  Nyonyas. The word  nyonya  (also commonly misspelled  nonya) is a  Javanese  loan honorific word from Italian  Nona  (grandma) meaning: foreign married Madam. Language The language of the Peranakans,  Baba Malay (Bahasa Melayu Baba), is a  creole dialect of the  Malay language (Bahasa Melayu), which contains many  Hokkien words. It is a dying language, and its contemporary use is mainly limited to members of the older generation. Culture 1. ClothingThe Nyonya’s clothing was identical to that of the native Malay’s: baju panjang (long dress), batik sarung (batik wrap-around skirt) and kerongsang (brooch). Beaded slippers called  Kasut Manek  were a hand-made made with much skill and patience: strung, beaded and sewn onto canvas with tiny faceted glass beads from  Bohemia (present-day  Czech Republic). 2. Religion Baba Nyonya subscribed to Chinese beliefs: Taoism, Confucianism and Chinese Buddhism, celebrated the  Lunar New Year and the  Lantern Festival, while adopting the customs of the land they settled in, as well as those of their colonial rulers.There are traces of Portuguese, Dutch, British, Malay and Indonesian influences in Baba culture. A certain number of Baba Nonya families were and st ill are, Catholic. 3. Food From the Malay influence a unique  Ã¢â‚¬ Nyonya† cuisine has developed using typical Malay spices. Examples are Chicken Kapitan, a dry chicken  curry, and Inchi Kabin, a Nyonya version of fried chicken.. Swikee Purwodadi is a peranakan dish from  Purwodadi, it is a frog soup dish. INTRODUCTION TO BABA & NYONYA WEDDING The wedding ceremony of the Peranakan is largely based on Chinese tradition, and is one of the most colourful wedding ceremonies in Malaysia and Singapore.The traditional Peranakan wedding is a 12-day affair which is usually carried out in the bride's house, where ceremonies like the Lap Chai (exchange of gifts) and Cheo Thau (coming of age) are carried out. The Cheo Thau ceremony is one of the most important ceremonies and marks the first occasion when the bride and bridegroom will wear their authentic wedding robes. The actual wedding ceremony will only take place before noon that day, after the Cheo Thau ceremony. Next, follow s the Chim Pang ceremony which marks the first meeting between the couple where the bride would lead the groom into the bridal chamber where he would unveil her.Together they would be served tea and a bowl of kueh ee – small white and red dumplings in a sweet broth. The third ceremony takes place in the bridal chamber. This is called Chia Sia. This ceremony is amusing and unique because friends and guests of the bridegroom would gather in the room and tease the bride with the hope of inducing laughter from the bride. The finale of the wedding ceremony, would be the â€Å"dua belas hari† or Twelfth Day ceremony, where the marriage would be confirmed and approved by proof of the bride's virginity.Firstly, the bride's parents would invite the bridegroom's mother to inspect a handkerchief (known as aBim Poh) collected from the wedding bed. The handkerchief will be placed on a tray and presented to the bridegroom's mother for inspection, where she would be invited to perfor m a test by squeezing lime juice on the handkerchief in hope of ascertaining the authencity of the stain.
